Our Vision
Through the medium of hats, weaving and canvases, Hatmobile aims to reach out and connect people with others and with themselves. You will find a space to explore and experiment with fabrics and techniques.
Hatmobile workshops and tours seek to support emotional well-being by providing space, skills and opportunity for people to express their feelings through colour, texture and shape.
Everyone is welcome, young or old, and any gender.
High schools, country regions and community groups in Melbourne and throughout Australia – Hatmobile will come to you.
In 2010, our rural workshops were the subject of a documentary film called 'Hats Off to Farming Women'. It focused on a workshop in Coleambally, NSW, sponsored by South West Arts.
It was opportunities like this that inspired Waltraud to launch the Hatmobile as an ongoing project two years later.
